Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that teaches a smaller person how to defend himself against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique. It contains stand-up maneuvers, but it is most famous for its dominant ground positions and submission holds. Because most fights end on the ground, it is crucial to be trained in how to control these positions.
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu was created by Eddie Bravo under the tutelage of Jean Jacques Machado. It is a unique style of no gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which was made to work both inside the cage and on the sporting mats. The intent behind the creation was to have an unorthodox style which could keep an opponent under constant control and in the threat of danger.
What separates 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu from other styles is its innovation and evolution. Some of the moves, like the Rubber Guard, the Twister, and the Lock Down have taken the jiu jitsu community by storm because of their originality and effectiveness. Eddie and his students are constantly evolving to stay on the cutting edge of jiu jitsu.

Pat Campagnola is a brown belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu and the head instructor of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Springfield MA. Pat wrestled for two seasons at Worcester Polytechnic Institute before moving to Phoenix, AZ after graduation. After several years of missing the competitive edge of wrestling, Pat decided to try MMA training while temporarily living and working in Nogales, AZ. In preparation of moving back to Phoenix, a friend recommended that he check out Eddie Bravo and 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. A quick web search revealed that 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Phoenix was just five miles from his house.
He was hooked after taking a trial class and has been dedicated to 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu since that day. Pat trained for several years under 10th Planet black belt John Botello, eventually earning his purple belt before moving back to New England.
Pat has now taken the next step and opened his own academy where he teaches every class. He is a detail-oriented instructor and will help you learn every position step-by-step regardless of your age or skill level. He still enjoys learning and competing himself so you will frequently find him at seminars and preparing for competition.
